The history of Portlock's dark past - from its native legends to its more recent history of crime and violence.

In 2010, four people were shot in a drive-by shooting that occurred near one of Portlock's housing projects. And in 2012, two teenage girls were shot while walking down one of Portlock's streets

The area has a long history of crime and violence, which has only been exacerbated by its problems with poverty and unemployment.
